COMMISSIONING OF PROGRAMMES ON FIXED BUDGET BASIS IN URDU FOR DDs URDU CHANNEL

 

Doordarshan invites proposals from eminent producers and directors in the country who hadn’t been able to apply in August 2009 in response to Doordarshan’s notification.

 

Those who had applied in July-August 2009 in response to the earlier notification soliciting proposals under commissioned category for DD Urdu need not apply unless they wish to change or amend their proposal(s). In any case, they are not required to pay processing fee.

The last date of submission of the Proposals is 01.10.2011

The complete Proposal/Show Reel along with a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 25,000/- per Proposal (in respect of new applications only) in the form of a Crossed Bank draft payable to   PBBCI, Directorate General, Doordarshan, New Delhi (payable at New Delhi) may be addressed to the Director General, Doordarshan, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi-110001 and deposited at the Facilitation Counter on the ground floor of Tower 'A' of Doordarshan Bhavan. Applications sent by post should have 'Commissioning for DD Urdu—Proposal' superscribed on the envelope.

 

A broad out-line of themes and genres which will be preferred for commissioning is:-

1.

Programmes based on non-Islamic devotional music from Urdu Poetry available in Deewans & Kulliyats of Eminent Urdu Poets

2.

 Architectural excellence of India in historical perspective.

3.

 Docu-drama/Programme Series on the origin & evolution of Urdu Journalism, its role in freedom struggle, showcasing stalwarts in the field, especially of the pre-partition era/ programme series on the history of Indian Broadcasting.

4.

 Docu-drama featuring interesting anecdotes from the eventful lives of stalwarts among Urdu poets interspersed with the compositions of their selected verses.

5.

 Urdu light vocal music based on patriotic master-pieces of Urdu poets

6.

 Programme series portraying sculptural works of Art.

7.

 Programme series on the painting traditions of India and the state of contemporary painting talent as acclaimed world over.

8.

 An emulation of BBC's "HARD TALK" involving personages from different walks of life aimed at unraveling various interesting dimensions of their personalities.

 

9.

DAILY SOAP

(In Chaste Urdu)

10.

 Deeply interesting chat shows involving those not having read Urdu as a subject or do not claim to have Urdu as their Mother Tongue but speak, read, write and love this language.

11.

A comprehensive Reality Show focusing on old and new Ghazal singing patterns, and its changing style. This reality must simultaneously showcase origin and evolution of Ghazal as a form of Urdu poetry. Such a reality shows be anchored by top celebrities in the field.

 A television Chat-Show on burning issues related with Urdu Language, Literature, Script, its role as one of the main cementing forces between emotionally inseparable social factors in India & Pakistan, the ills, the stigmas and the challenges faced by Urdu speaking people -Anchored by a popular & established broadcaster with a solid journalistic background.

 Portrayal of the skill and dexterity of our craftsmen who have conserved the tradition in their respective fields and also created a beautiful blend of modernism and tradition.

Television adaptation Dastans and  other Urdu classics like 'Baagh-o-Bahar' by Mir Amman, 'Fasan-e-Aajib' by Rajab Ali Beig 'Saroor', 'Tilsm-e-Hoshruba' by Mir Amman, ' Aaraish-e-Mehfil' by Haider Baksh Haidery, 'Rani Keitki Ki Kahani' by Insha Allah Khan Insha, 'Daastan-e-Chahaar Durvesh' by Rajab Ali Beig 'Saroor' which are widely popular for their pure, lucid Urdu 'Muhaware', admirable thematic weight and ecstatically stupefying element of romance in a decent and tolerable measure.

A programme series on not-so-known forms of Urdu poetry like, Mathnavi, Qaseeda, Rubaie, Nazm, Marsi etc.

Documentaries/Docu-dramas/Fictionalised serials on the stalwarts among freedom fighters including those who are lesser known like Ram Prasad Bismil,  Maulana Hasrat Mohani,  Ashfaqullah Khan etc.

23.

Serialised TV adaptation of outstanding novels and short-stories in Urdu literature.

24.

Television adaptation of Prose written by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad like 'Ghubare´ Khatir' and that of Mirza Ghalib such as ' Khutoot-e-Ghalib' etc.

(Ideas other than these can also be considered keeping in view the complexion of DD Urdu, its programme exigencies and the production values/ visual treatment etc).

Proposals received after 1700 hrs. on 01.10.2011  will not be entertained.
