EVENING LIVE SHOW
The Evening Live Show which is telecast on Regional Chunk of DD-1 between 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm from Monday to Friday is one of the most popular programmes of DDK Delhi. In the last one year this programme has had value addition in its contents in terms of guests who appear in this show. Top bureaucrats, people from the Industry, the area of Art and Culture, Education, Environment, Social Agencies, NGOs have been regularly appearing in the programme on issues of Regional and National concern. The programme takes up topics which are current in nature and gives a holistic approach to the viewers in terms of Information, Entertainment and Education. Topics include Life style, Fashion, Health, Public Issues etc. Be it the matter of stress in examinations for children or rising crime in the capital or even spurt in gold prices, the viewer is taken through a journey of infotainment in the course of its one hour presentation. All the chiefs of Para-Military Forces were also invited in the Evening Live Show.
The programme is participatory and at least one segment every day is phone-in programme. Despite being a Regional window, the signals of DDK Delhi are available through out the country. Therefore, the viewer’s response to queries are from as far as Port Blair, Guwahati and distant towns of Gujarat.
A New element will shortly be added i.e. facility of SMS which not only will increase viewer’s participation on important issues that can be introduced through this system but also earn substantial revenue for the Kendra and the DD as a network.
ELS only recently has had new faces in Anchors, more creative graphics to give the programme a new and richer appearance.
KIDZ ISLAND / SATRANGI BACHPAN ( CHILDREN’S PROGRAMME )
The Kendra telecasts three programmes for children in a week. The Programmes are titled ‘Kidz Island’ and Satrangi Bachpan. They go on air every Monday , Thursday from 4.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. and on every wednesday from 4.30 to 5.00 pm on DD-I. These programmes are targeted at children in the age group of 8 years to 15 years.
The objectives of the programmes are to inform, educate and entertain the target group. This is achieved by maximum participation of children in the stated group. Each programme has five to seven segments. It is a programme for the children by the children and of the children. The Monday programme includes a segment on Personality Development, and is titled “ Are you Ok”, Thursday programme has a segment on quiz titled ‘ Lets play a Brain Teaser” . The other segments include dance and music by child artistes, magic by renowned magicians, involving active participation of children, mix puppet shows by eminent experts in the fields. In addition, attempt is made to increase scientific understanding through simple experiments in special segments “ Eureka” to help students enhance their vocabulary. Word power games are arranged from time to time. We also have special segment in various parts of the year to match the schedule of the targeted viewers e.g. in summer vacations not only we show excerpts from the ongoing summer camps but also arrange special programmes wherein children can learn some tips from experts from the fields of painting, dramatics, story telling etc. Children are actively involved in all the segments.
CHITRAHAAR
It is one of the oldest and most popular programmes of Doordarshan and is being telecast on every Friday from 7.30 – 8.00 p.m. It is based on Hindi films songs and caters to the needs of both young and aged as it also contains old songs alongwith the new releases. The songs are beautifully knit together by impeccable anchoring..
SPORTS PROGRAMME
Doordarshan brings its viewers major National and International Sporting events through live telecasts and other programmes on sports including recordings of the events and interviews with eminent sports persons. Fourth Umpire which is telecast before & after the cricket matches from Kendra’s studios has got high viewership.

MUSICAL PROGRAMMES
Music is the soul of life. Delhi Kendra invites top grade artistes and young talented individuals to perform in its studios. From instrumental to vocal to dance and from ghazal to bhajans to qawwalis, every genre of sangeet is promoted by the channel. The programme has high viewership as Doordarshan is the only channel which actively promotes classical singing and dancing.

KRISHI DARSHAN
Doordarshan Kendra Delhi telecasts programmes on animal husbandry, agriculture, family welfare, health and hygiene etc. for the benefit of the rural viewers on Mondays to Fridays at 6.30 pm. Krishi Darshan is one of the oldest programmes of Doordarshan and has been running successfully for more than 39 years now. It is the most awaited programme by villagers in general and farmers in particulars. It is a programme that provides information and educates farmers residing in far away and remote villages and small towns.
RAJDHANI SE
Telecast on every Thursday from 6.00 -6.15 p.m., it covers all the major cultural and social events in and around the capital. It highlights contemporary events which influence the socio-cultural environment of Delhi. The programme incorporates various inter-linked segments presented by an anchor to provide the necessary detailed background information.
KALA PARIKRAMA
Telecast from 7.30 to 8.00 p.m. on Mondays, this programme holds the interest of art-lovers. The programme covers exhibitions, events, presentations, workshops and seminars on art and culture in and around Delhi. It attracts individuals with a creative bent of mind towards the fine arts. Outside coverage is presented with an anchor in segments.
PATRIKA
Telecast every Wednesday from 6.00 – 6.30 p.m., it is a literary programme which is aimed at exploring the richness of Hindi literature by discussions between eminent personalities from Hindi literature and avid readers. It is a popular programme and caters to the demands of lovers of Hindi literature in and around Delhi.
BAZM
Bazm is an Urdu literary weekly programme telecast on every Monday from 6.00 -6.30 p.m. where prominent personalities, upcoming litterateurs and young readers of Urdu literature participate in discussions. The programme also showcases mushaira and critical appraisals of famous Urdu texts. Literary events of Urdu in and around Delhi are also covered.
PUNJABI DARPAN
Punjabi Darpan programme is a weekly programme telecast on Tuesdays from 6.00 -6.30 p.m. It caters to the Punjabi Audience in and around Delhi. Basic concept of the programme is to highlight the information about the Punjabi Culture/ literature. Doordarshan also invites prominent Punjabies who have attained success in their respective professions to share their experience of life. This segment of the programme have been appreciated by the audience.
Other segments of the programme cover the area of cultural activities related to the subject. Delhi has large number of Punjabi Population, hence it has good viewership. Programme also covers theatre/dance/folk music, visiting personalities to give the optimum information to the viewers.
KAVI GOSTHI/ MUSHAIRA / KAVI DARBAR
Distinguish poets in the respective literary disciplines are invited to present their literary work in Kavi Ghoshthi / Mushaira and Kavi Darbar. Kendra also covers Kavi Sammelan, Mushaira & Kavi Darbar being held in & around Delhi, and also telecast the events on the occasion of Independence Day & Republic Day.
SRIJAN
A literary Hindi magazine programme (Weekly) gives an updated picture of contemporary world of Indian Literature telecast on DD Bharati. In this programme seminars, symposia, book exhibitions and reviews are covered. We invite established and upcoming writers/scholars/poets in this programme. Many a transcriptions of this series are published in leading magazine.
FALAK
It gives a composite picture of our great heritage, traditions, traditional arts, contemporary performing art, visual arts cinema and theatre. Programme reflects the cultural and art events on regular basis. DD Bharati produced a 70 episodes long series on world renowned painter – Pablo Picasso.

Sponsored serials for National Telecast are received in the Kendra without commercials. The serials are capsuled with commercials at DDK Delhi as per advice received from Mumbai Marketing Division and telecast accordingly on National Channel.

Audience Research Unit is an integral component of Delhi Doordarshan Kendra which maintains contact between the audience and the Kendra in analysing the mail & reviewing the press comments, generating DART Ratings through mail, telephone & field surveys. Data Bank is also maintained to provide ready reference.
