Advertisement for Short Term Acquisition of Programmes -- 2006-07
Doordarshan invites proposals from Television Producers for Short-term Acquisition of ready Programmes. Details of programme requirement and guidelines for Programme Acquisition are as given below.
The proposals should be submitted with a non-refundable Processing Fee in form of a bank draft of Rs. 10,000/- for each proposal in favour of PBBCI - DG: Doordarshan New Delhi, latest by 15th January 2007.
Details of Programme Requirement for DD National Channels (Programmes in Hindi,/Urdu only) are as under:
1. Programmes/Serials on 150 years of the First War of Indian Independence.
2. Programmes in the categories of:
(i) Indian Classical Music, Folk Music and Dances;
(ii) Game shows/TV Shows for Family viewing and for specific target groups like Youth, Women and Children
(iii) Documentaries on Indian Tourism, Art, Craft, Culture and Fashion, Environment and Wild life, National heroes, Indian Diaspora NRI’S & PIO’S, Literatteurs - Jnanpith Sahitya Academy other National Awardees, Developmental issues, Programmes projecting India as a Brand.
(iv) Sports Programmes including Rural and Traditional Indian Sports, Sports Medicine, Aerobics, Yoga and Physical Education, Training for various sports and programmes highlighting Indian excellence in sports.
3. Comedy (Humour and Satire) Entertainment, Film-based programmes and Fiction for General and Special Audiences.
4. Children’s Programming
5. Urdu Programmes for children, women and for general viewing. Documentaries and docu dramas on Indian Architecture, sculpture, painting, craftsmen and artisans, Urdu academies, Libraries and Research Centres; Musical Programmes like Gazals. Qawwalis, sofiana mosiqui, marsiyya and nauha khwani, traditional storytelling in verse, antakshari, patriotic songs and devotional recitations; Chat Shows with persons of eminence from various walks of life; Telefilms, soaps, serials and Comedies in Chaste Urdu with Credits/Captions in Persian & Roman Script.
How to apply :
(i) Each proposal may be submitted in a sealed envelope with all details and documents specified in Acquisition Guidelines clause 2c. It may be clearly stated if the Programme is being sent in the ‘Fresh’ or ‘Repeat’ category. The envelope may be superscribed (i) Programme Acquisition (ii) Category___________’ clearly stating the category given in Bold and Underlined in the Programme Requirements detailed above, (iii) the Programme Title & (iv) Company Name and Address.
(ii) With each proposal, in a separate sealed envelope a non refundable Processing Fee of Rs. 10,000/- in form of a bank draft in favour of PBBCI - DG: Doordarshan New Delhi, may be submitted as in Acquisition Guidelines, clause 2e) The envelope may be superscribed Processing Fee alongwith the other details on the proposal envelope.

The proposal may also be submitted at the Facilitation Counter at Doordarshan Bhavan New Delhi from 1000 Hrs. to 1700 Hrs. (Except 1300 Hrs. to 1400 Hrs.) on any working day. The closing date for accepting application / proposals is 15/1/2007, 3.00 PM.
Note:
· Since this is a requirement for ready programmes any/all tapes may be required at any stage of processing at short notice. Failure to submit tapes within specified time will lead to disqualification / rejection of the proposal without any further correspondence.
· Proposals incomplete in any respect, or submitted with any incorrect information will be liable for disqualification.
· Only proposals finally approved for acquisition, will be notified on Doordarshan’s website in due course.
· DD reserves the right to reject any proposal based on changing requirements of channels without assigning any reason.
