Advertisement for Short Term Acquisition of Programmes -- 2008
Doordarshan invites
proposals from Television Producers/ Right Holders for Short-term Acquisition
of fresh & repeat Programmes (in the ratio
of 80:20) in Urdu. Details of programme requirement and guidelines for
Programme Acquisition are given below.
The proposals should be
submitted with a non-refundable Processing Fee in the form of a bank draft of Rs. 10,000/- for each proposal in favour
of PBBCI - DG: Doordarshan
Programme Requirement:
1.
Documentaries/Docu-dramas/Features
on:
(Eminent personalities/celebrities from different walks of life).
2. Interviews with multi-dimensional personages of
interest to the viewers
of
DD Urdu :
3. Chat Shows/Quiz Shows :
4. Comedy/Wit & Humour/
Satire :
5. Classics/Literary Programmes/Adaptations :
(Daastaans,Masnavis,Qissa
Goie,Dying Art forms like chaharbeit).
6. Children’s Programmes in various formats including
Animated Series/Serials, Cartoon Films, Fantasy:
7. Sports Magazines/Health Magazines/Cultural
Magazines/Literary Magazines /Women Magazines/Youth Magazines/Children
Magazines.
8. Bait Baazi.
9. Fiction/Suspense Thrillers/Detective Serials :
(Daily Serials, Weekly Serials, Detective Serials, Suspense Thrillers).
10. Programme Series on :
(Various Sciences &
Scientific research with objective to modernise the outlook of DD Urdu’s
audience, Various Research Institutions of Modern
11. Qawwalies/Humd/Naat :
(Qawwalies, Humd, Naat,
Munaajaat, Manqabat).
12. Light Vocal Music :
(Compered Programme on Ghazals, Picturised Urdu Ghazals/Nazms/Geets etc. Any other attractive & captivating programme based on Urdu Music).
13. Hindu and other Non-Islamic Devotional Songs/Recitations
taken from Deewaans & Kulliyaats
of Urdu Poets.
14. Light vocal Music based on patriotic
master pieces of Urdu Poets.
15. Mushairas (Studio Based/Before invited audience)
Mizahiya/Tarahi/ Thematic.
16. Cookery shows.
17. Travelogue & Programmes on
Cultural & Religious, Tourism :
- No fresh programme series should exceed 26 episodes and no repeat
programme series can exceed 52 episodes.
- The
duration of each episode should be
between 28 to 29˝ minutes.
- The language used in the programme and by the anchors,
comperes should be chaste URDU with accurate and unflawed pronunciation and
accent.
- The complexion of the programme should gel with the heritage &
culture identified with URDU language.
- The captioning of
the programme has to be bilingual in URDU & ROMAN Scripts.
- No programme, which was earlier
offered to Doordarshan during the acquisition drive of DD Urdu, but was
rejected, will be entertained. Any attempt to re-package the same programme under another name/form etc. will invite
debarment of the concerned producer for at least 10 years from all channels of
Doordarshan.
How to apply :
(i) Each proposal may be submitted in a sealed envelope with all details and documents alongwith sample episode as specified in Acquisition Guidelines.The envelope may be superscribed “DD Urdu-Acquisition – 2008”.
(ii) Each
proposal should be accompanied by non refundable Processing Fee of Rs. 10,000/- in the form of a bank draft only drawn in favour
of PBBCI - DG: Doordarshan, payable at

The
proposal may be submitted at the Facilitation Counter on the foyer of Doordarshan
Bhavan New Delhi from 1000 Hrs. to 1700 Hrs. (Except 1300 Hrs. to 1400
Hrs.) on any working day. The closing date for accepting

Note:
The finally approved programme series shall have to be submitted in DVC Pro-50 format within specified period.
Proposals incomplete in any respect, or submitted with any incorrect information will be liable for disqualification.
Only proposals finally approved for acquisition, will be notified on Doordarshan’s website in due course.
DD reserves the right to reject any proposal based on changing requirements of the channel without assigning any reason.
